“The Heart’s Mind” is the second exhibition by “Studio Raha,” an artist-collective based inthe Bedouin city of Rahat. It features new works by 9 of the studio’s artists, almost all of them women, in painting, photography, and mixed media. The show’s title refers simultaneously to the intellect and emotion and to the space in which the two work together. In this realm, manifestations of power and freedom, relations, tensions, and contradictions are constantly created, as they are also expressed in the works themselves. Freedom and the self exploration are depicted in them through symbols and images of various kinds, playing with society and tradition in unexpected ways
