Jan Tichy: New Works

MoBY-Museums of Bat Yam, Bat Yam, Israel

November 12, 2009 - February 13, 2010

“Most of my works are concerned with concepts of photography. From light and lightning, through vision and projection, reflection and translucence, to the frame and the image. In my sculptures and installations, I use photographic terminology such as exposure, positive and negative, black and white, and tonal threshold. I use these concepts, derived from photography, to talk about political and social issues. The objects range between models of existing structures and abstract, basic forms. They are activated by direct or reflected projected light.” Jan Tichy in conversation with Leah Abir.
